IN OFF THE POST...................................

Vicsoccer, Mon Aug 6, 2018 11:43AM

With the business end of the season upon us, now is a timely reminder to see which teams are getting the benefits of a strong pre season

regarding their fitness regime endurance and team structure.

Premier League Morning:-

It only seemed like yesterday when SAVAGE UNITED applied to enter the competition. As we approach this weekend they sit on top of the

Premier League Morning and play the team who have been there many times, St. ALBANS VUKOVAR. Promises to be a great game this Sunday.

Congratulations to Ben Tyrrell and his boys from SAVAGE and Stevie Balta and all his troupes from VUKOVAR for a great season

Division One -West Seniors :-

FOOTSCRAY UNITED RANGERS played out a very hard fought and tight game in a one versus two game of the round last weekend.  Rangers

just got the three points in a game that puts them in an almost unbeatable position. MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY need to win their remaining

games and score a shed full of goals in the process. Ben White has constructed a very good club in the west and has been pushed all the way by

Andrew Bullen and his strong efficient team.

Division One West - Reserves :-

With one round and a catch up game to go we have three teams, MELBOURNE UNI,ALBION THUNDER and FOOTSCRAY HIMALAYAN  all on

twenty three points, could it be any closer ?

This division could well be decided on goal difference!!

The finger nails of Emeile, Nuredin and Ratna representatives from the top three will be well and truly bitten off. Great competitors one and all.

Division One - East

Again we  have a team that has only been with VicSoccer a few seasons but they have made huge progress. They played in the Summer

Competition a couple of years ago and conceded around 12 goals intheir opening game now they have the best defence in this division,

I speak of course about BATI TRAKYA.. With a couple of rounds to play and with a game in hand they are in a great position. This weekend they

play the only side to take a point off them, HIGHLANDER UNITED. Another great game on Sunday morning. Surviving adversity makes people

stronger, to Alper and his hard working club a massive congratulations for the enormous strides your club has achieved.

Premier League Afternoon - Seniors

With two game to go we have a winner !! BARNSTONEWORTH UNITED have come out on top against a very strong trio of, WEST BRUNSWICK

WANDERERS, THORNBURY UNITED and PEGS SOCCER CLUB. Having scored more and conceding less than any other team they deserve to

be called Champions. The runner up in this division will come from WEST BRUNSWICK WANDERERS or THORNBURY UNITED. Well done to

Shaun Riise for delivering a great team, from the Presidents position.

Premier League Afternoon - Reserves.

If a team can go all season without a loss, winning 11 from 15 you know you have a quality team on your hands. WEST BRUNSWICK

WANDERERS have now become Champions ten points ahead of PEGS SOCCER CLUB and E.T.A. BUFFALO - one of these teams will be

runner up in this division. Thank you to Alan Long, Alex Stephenson and Lino Lim for providing your supporters with some fine football again this

season.

Over Thirty Fives Division.

This division is anyone's guess as to who will end up top or second. We have THORNBURY UNITED and SOUTH PARK RANGERS ( Champions

for the last three seasons), on top after 14 games on equal points, then in third place we have ALBERT PARK SPIDERS on 27  points with a

game in hand. To Rob, Laky and Ash and Pete from Spiders all of you have been going toe to toe all season. Wherever the championship ends up

it will be well deserved.

Ladies Division.

With a couple of rounds and a couple of catch up games to go this is another division that will go right down to the wire. The top two places are

being challenged by three teams, NORTH MELBOURNE ATHLETIC, THORNBURY UNITED and E.T.A. BUFFALO. THORNBURY and BUFFALO

play each other this weekend - some game in prospect. It is fantastic to see the over thirty fives and the Ladies division being so close at the

business end of the season. Well done Tracy & Steph, David and Elino.

The league season is coming to an end, but the cup competitions fire up in about two weeks and the draw is already been published.

As the league season is coming to an end, it is important to applaud all teams, their coaching staff, supporters and sponsors, this is a team game

and a team effort is required to get teams playing every week.

The referees, once again have been wonderful and appreciation is showered upon them by all players, clubs and the Board of Management.

Everyone likes to think they know more that the guy in the middle, believe me they don't. Keep up the terrific work gentlemen.

Football is a game of passion, it is their to be enjoyed by everyone - don't get confused by passion and anger.

With passion you can enjoy your sport, with anger you cannot.

As always, enjoy your football this weekend....................................................................
